SAN DIEGO -- Testimony will
continue this morning in the trial of two San Diego city
councilmen accused of participating in a scheme to take
illegal campaign contributions in exchange for helping to
overturn a ban on touching exotic dancers in strip clubs.
Prosecutors are expected to question FBI informant Tony
Montagna for a third day. The bodybuilder wore hidden
audio recorders during long conversations he had with many
of the trial's key players, including Las Vegas strip-club
owner Michael Galardi and his lobbyist Lance Malone.
The trial of Councilmen Michael Zucchet and Ralph
Inzunza is expected to last up to three months. Former
Councilman Charles Lewis, who died last year, was
originally also charged.
