OC Cop Gets Off in Court after Masturbating on
Stripper During Questionable Traffic Stop
February 10, 2007
Last week an Orange County jury saved a former cop from a 10
year prison sentence when they said that although David Alex
Park's semen was found on the sweater of a woman he pulled over
soon after leaving her job at a gentleman's club, that the sex
was consensual, because, as the defense attorney told the jury,
"she got what she wanted, she’s an overtly sexual person."
According to reports by the LA Times, OC Register, the OC
Weekly, and Bad Cop News, Park pulled over L (her last name
wasn't used in the trial) in the early morning of Dec. 15, 2004
for weaving and speeding, gave her a sobriety test that she
passed, wound up fondling her breasts, putting his fingers into
her vagina while masturbating and finally ejaculating on her
clothes.
Park who is married and now works construction was fired as a
police officer after the incident with L. However the 11-male,
one female jury found the 6' 3", 31 year-old Park not guilty of
ten counts including three felony charges (sexual penetration by
foreign object by threatening to use the authority of a public
official, sexual battery, and sexual battery by restraint)
despite some suspicious activity:
- four months earlier Park had stopped the stripper but he
didn't cite her for her "plastic druggie bag", instead he got
her phone number, which he called the very next day and talked
to her for 19 minutes out of "concern" for her safety.
- a few weeks prior to the admitted beat-off, Park had run the
license plates of nine female employees of L's strip club
through the DMV computer.
- Irvine Police Sgt. Michael Hallinan had previously warned Park
to keep away from strippers
- Park lied on the stand when he said he didn't know it was L
when he approached her car, but police records prove that he ran
her plates before he stopped her and didn't call for back-up .
- Park didn't pull L over in his territory of Irvine and didn't
tell his dispatch when he left Irvine
- Park's GPS system had been disconnected without authorization
the night that he jerked off on the stripper after trailing her
out of Irvine
L said, “Basically, the officer made me give [him] a freaking
hand job and he let me go." She earlier received a $400,000
settlement from the City of Irvine to avoid a civil trial, which
might be one reason she was so conciliatory in her response to
the shocking felony verdict.
"I'm disappointed by the verdict, but I respect the jury's
decision,'' she said.
