RENO, Nev. (AP) - A jury has found an Oregon man guilty of the April 1998 strangulation of a woman in Reno.

Also Thursday, the same Washoe County District Court jury sentenced Terry Gene Brown to life in prison without parole for the murder of Vickie Lee.

Authorities said DNA taken from the fingernails of the victim matched that of Brown, 35.

Lee, 30, was found dead in hedges behind the downtown Reno motel room that Brown rented the day he was paroled from a Susanville, Calif., prison.

She was described as a prostitute living a transient and drug lifestyle in downtown Reno.

"There was no motive to this crime," prosecutor Karl Hall said. "There was no reason to take her life."
